Purpose Discussion Questions

This May we are working together as a church to understand and articulate our shared purpose, vision and values as a church.

Knowing something’s purpose is essential if you want it to operate it to its full potential. This is true for a tool, a business, a person, an organisation, and especially the Church. Knowing our purpose helps remind us what we are meant to be on about, why we are doing what we do, and it stops us from going off and just doing our own thing, which unfortunately is often the case.

Below are the questions that we worked through as a community. We invite you to reflect upon and discuss these questions as we look towards coming together with a shared purpose for us as a community.

  4. Where do you see evidence of our church in the past 12 months seeking to love our neighbours?
  5. Where do you see evidence in your own life in the past 12 months of you seeking to love your neighbours?
  6. Where do you see evidence in the Book of Acts of Jesus’ followers seeking to live out and prioritize the great commission?
  7. Where do you see evidence of our church, in the past 12 months, seeking to live out and prioritize the great commission?
